Day 37 – Walking in Sand 🚶

You ever have those days that are like walking in the sand? 😏

Every step seems to have a little slide back, but if you walk on wet sand, you get a little more distance with each step. Try climbing up a hill of sand and the slide back is sometimes bigger than the step you took.

It’s part of life and part of business! I experience it on a regular basis, and I’ve had to adjust my thoughts to not see it as a defeat or failing, but as part of the process. If you try to avoid it, then you could be avoiding an important part of the learning or strength building process.

This is important to me because I am not just trying to run a successful online business, I am trying to do it in a healthy manner and improve my health in the process.

Surprise Obstacles 😩

Over the last few weeks, I have been getting increased back pain, however, the set back is that this is a new back pain. I have upper and lower back injuries, but this new pain is in the mid-back now. I learned it is from the way I sit on my desk chair. I have a certain slouch I end up with when I’m focused on working.

Now I just purchased a new back support, as my chair doesn’t have good support. I also have learned a few stretches I can do to improve my mid-back. I also continue to use my electro magnetic pulse mat which I use for my other back issues.

So, What Did I Learn? 🤓

I learned that it is just as important to be aware of little things we do or don’t do as it may lead to a bigger issue in time. The new back pain wasn’t sudden, but a result of many days sitting in an unhealthy manner.

I believe this can also occur in working an online business. We can continue in habits that don’t seem a big issue but in time can compound into a much bigger and more noticeable issue. Of course, we will only notice it when it’s causing us some kind of pain. Or we can track what we do, continue to learn, get advice from a mentor and try to improve as we go.

What’s Been Happening on the Practical Side of This Affiliate Business? 🤔

In my business I’ve been working on trying to drive traffic to my site and products, been keeping up my social media posts motivating those who follow. I’ve been following up with my subscribers from the first campaign I mentioned in a previous post.

In addition, I did a second traffic generating campaign yesterday to get more leads and was able increase it by about 70 leads in half a day! That’s exciting! Looking forward to continued increase as I stay consistent with the process and plan.

Any growth is good growth, even if it doesn’t seem significant or large. 💪

Hope you all have an amazing week.

Let me know how you deal with any setbacks or obstacles in the comments or just come by and say hi!

I so agree! The little things make u the big thing! Prioritizing your business and personal heath goals is essential. The good thing is we can always regroup reprioritize when we go off course. What methods and platforms are using to drive your traffi?. Getting 70 leads is incredible! Have a great week!

      Hi Ernie,
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate your feedback!
In regards to the traffic source I used for the 70 leads you ask about is a traffic co-op.
Being in Dean’s Accelerator Pro, we have the option of utilizing a Traffic Co-op. It’s a company that I paid a certain amount for those leads.
I share my link and they share the email with their most relevant leads list and assure the number of leads paid for.
These leads haven’t generated many sales but I still have access to them until they unsubscribe.
It’s easier but not necessarily as effective for conversion to sales as lead ads or other sources we are learning.
      Thanks again,
      Denny

I’m so sorry to hear about your back. Back pain is dreadful. How have you got on with your back support? Did it work?
Well done with your social media, that’s a result- I hope you get something from it. Would love to hear more.
Continue the good habits, that’s how to gain success.

      HI Sarah,
Thanks for your comment and I appreciate your encouragement!
The back support is working out well! I continue my daily electro magnetic pulse treatment. It helps the most.
      Thanks again 🙂

Funny you should say that… I spent all day on the computer, and a month or so ago was getting a lot of back pain. In fact one morning I could not get off the bed! Tanya forced me into buying a new desk chair…one with excellent lumber support, and within a week of using it all my pain had gone. For me one lesson was that sometimes you need to listed to an outside voice to get over your blind spot and so something about the issue.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Tony,
Thanks for your comment and feedback!
That’s challenging when you can’t get out of bed. I once had to have an ambulance come help me.
I was stuck standing holding the hand rail and couldn’t even lift a foot to move. The pain was so much I would scream.
They gave me some potent pain killer so I could go down the stairs to the ambulance. Hospital couldn’t do anything.
Spent almost a month off work. I also used an adjustable desktop which allowed me to raise the desk and work standing up and could lower it to sit when needed. This helped so much! Thanks again.

The obstacles we face are mainly created by fear. Feel the fear and do it anyway, as the adage goes. I’m happy to conquer the tech as I progress. I am not a tech person but everyday in every way, I am getting better and better.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Kate,
      Thanks for sharing your feedback!
Fear is definitely the main reason and shouldn’t stop us.
It’s great you are ready to conquer tech issues.
All the best as you move forward!

That is exciting: “70 leads in half a day.” I would love to know more about what strategy you are utilizing. Is it Facebook Lead Ads? I am starting my journey into Paid Traffic and am open to learning about all possibilities!

I think Facebook lead ads would be better than the traffic co-op for getting more sales.
      Hope this helps 🙂

    Hi Denny,
I’m so sorry you hurt your back. I hope it gets better soon. Unfortunately, we do have to have these learning lessons in life.. The importance thing is that we learn from our mistakes and do better. That applies to business too. Thank you for this great analogy. We are all human and all we can do is our best. Thanks!

    Hi Denny,
I can so relate to what you’re saying about trying to climb sand. Many times we take one step forward and two back. But we learn from the mistakes and add them to our arsenal of knowledge. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. Hope you get better soon and are able to resume your blogging.
    All the best,
    Andy

Hi Denny, I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles with back pain. I know that sitting all day and being consumed with what you’re doing can create issues with the body, and remembering to take breaks periodically helps to alleviate the stiffness and pain we all feel from being in one position for so long. It sounds like you have recognized and are taking steps to prevent a serious issue. You are doing a fantastic job with your business. What are you doing specifically to attract leads into your funnels? I’m always curious about the methods others are using to gain traction. I am enjoying following your progress.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for your comment and encouragement 🙂
So glad you enjoyed the post! I’m able to take precautions and raise my desk now and work standing up when needed.
I’ve tried this Traffic Co-op to get leads but they are cold leads, doesn’t convert to sales as much as more warm leads.
I tried Facebook ads with no success because I was using regular ads when I should have used FB lead ads.
Now I am just trying a few different options (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) to asses what I would prefer as a primary traffic source.
I may try FB lead ads before making a final decision.
Hope to see you back again!

Denny, dealing with problems can feel like walking on sand, slow and tough. But every little step you take forward helps. It’s important to see obstacles as part of the journey. When something unexpected comes up, it’s good to be aware and take action, like fixing your posture or getting advice for your business. Even small victories are worth celebrating because they keep you going. Keep moving forward, and don’t be afraid to talk about your experiences and help others too! I pray you have a full recovery. Thanks Atif

    Denny,
Sorry to hear about your back pain and I hope you get some relief. I agree that little things can add up to big things if we do not notice them right away. That can include habits. Congratulations on your 70 leads. I would like to hear more about how you achieved that.

Like you, Denny, I had to learn from the experience of walking on wet sand to understand and accept that it is part of the process.

So good when we recognize how the little things we might overlook are precisely the things we may need to focus on.

    Thank you

    Denny,

Absolutely, those days can feel like an uphill battle on shifting sands! It’s all about finding ways to keep moving forward, even if it’s just a little progress at a time. Your awareness of the setbacks and your proactive approach to addressing them, like with your back pain, is key. Keep adapting and learning, both in business and in health. And congrats on the progress with your traffic generation efforts – that’s definitely something to celebrate!

    Keep moving forward!

Denny, I am a retired chiropractor and I had a private practice for over a decade before retiring in 2022, before finding affiliate marketing. I found a lot of interest in reading this post! I couldn’t help but read your post from my “chiropractic lens.” From the affiliate marketing perspective, I can appreciate how you are sharing your journey as you’re building your business. Everything you’re sharing is of the utmost importance!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Lauren,
      Thank you for your comment!
So glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your encouragement 🙂
Wow, you were a chiropractor! I’ve gone to chiropractors for the over 20 years.
Unfortunately I haven’t been to one since Sept 2022. After visiting a new Chiropractor at that time, the next day I ended up not able to walk and in hospital in extreme pain. Since I’ve relied on electro magnetic pulse treatment I do at home.
Thanks again for your kind words 🙂

    Hi Denny!
Your description of the sand was a great visual while I continued to read your post! It is very similar to a familiar saying with our DIY home improvements – feeling like for every one step forward, we need to take 3 steps back some days. As long as we stay focused on our path, we will eventually achieve our goals! Keep believing!
#win about your leads! That’s great news!
I’m sorry to hear about your back issues. Please take care of yourself!
My obstacle right now is getting Opt-ins to my lead magnet.
    All the best!
