Work and health. Is it manageable? 🤷

There goes another week, and we get closer to autumn 🍂 🍁 and some cooler weather!

I don’t know about you but I’m a fan of colder weather. I’m not wired for heat but more so cold. 😊

If you missed my last post please feel free to go over and have a read, it’s about “attitude”  and how it can make or break you!

In this post I’m updating on new breakthrough in my FB lead ad and how I’ve been managing health while running this business.

You may just find some nuggets for your own journey 😊

Facebook lead ad

Since last week when I had updated some revised emails for my lead ad workflow, something was still bothering me.

I was only getting 1 – 2 leads per day, but a lot of time only one lead and some days zero leads.

I decided to try to change the focus of the interest in the ad. I targeted the ad to reach people interested in Russell Brunson.

I’ve been following Gary Vaynerchuk for several years and have been inspired by his teaching and motivation. I decided to target the ad to those following him, as he has a very large following.

The other important part of using Gary Vee, as they call him, is that so many who follow him are interested in building an online business.

Since I made this change I noticed that my leads increased to 2 – 3 leads per day. This isn’t a huge leap, but for me, I see it as significant.

The way I look at it, If I can make a change like that and increase my leads by 1-2 extra per day then it’s possible to continue learning and increase it by more!

🤔 What do you think, do you agree or disagree with that?

What I’ve learned from my mentor is to master what I use for traffic generation.

This is done by tracking numbers, assessing what’s working and not working, getting feedback from mentors/coaches, and taking action.

Keeping health in check! 🩺

In case you’re new to following my journey, I had initially set out to track not just the business process but also how I manage my health in the process.

I feel it’s important for everyone to see the realities of life and business, the good and bad, the obstacles and victories.

In my lifetime I’ve met some very successful business owners who made themselves sick or hurt to get where they are. 🤕

I believe in working hard and doing what’s needed but working so much to get sick, is not the life I want to live!

🤔 How do you feel about working yourself to an unhealthy level?

It could mean that sometimes success can take a little longer, and I’m okay with that!

Over the last 3+ weeks, I’ve been dealing with a lot of back pain, a pinched nerve, and pain running from my back down my arm and my right hand is numb.

This has caused me to need repeated breaks throughout the day to lie down and rest my back. Also, many sleepless nights causing necessary naps. 💤

It hurts no matter whether I’m sitting mostly but also standing, even lying down sometimes, but least of all.

I’m getting X-rays very soon to help discover what the issue may be, but for the time being, I’ve added something to help prevent sitting down while I work.

Say hi to my new little friend! The desk riser. 😲

I used one just like this in my last job as a career counsellor after recovering from a back issue that required paramedics to take me to emergency a couple of years back.

I figured I would get my own for my current back issues and know its benefits quite well!

It’s important to put as much, if not, more effort into managing our health as it is in managing our business and overall life.

What’s to come?

Moving forward over the next week I have several tasks to complete.

  • Watch the feedback on my last 8 emails from my lead ad workflow and make changes.
  • Post this blog post and respond to any comments and feedback.
  • Complete Module 6 from my mentors training for the Affiliate System
  • Daily document the stats surrounding my Facebook lead ad.
  • Post daily on my business Facebook page.
  • Work on re-engaging and recording a video for my TikTok, which I left idle for a month now.

Looks like it’s going to be a very busy week!

Please leave me some feedback, let me know your thoughts on running a business and maintaining good health. Also, if you’re using Facebook lead ads, let me know how things are going for you!

Talk soon,

Denny

    Hi Denny!

Thanks for sharing your insights on balancing work and health—it’s such an important topic that often gets overlooked in the hustle of building a business. I completely agree with you! It’s crucial to prioritize our well-being alongside our professional ambitions.

I admire your proactive approach to adjusting your Facebook lead ad strategy. Targeting those interested in influential figures like Gary Vee sounds like a smart move! It’s all about finding the right audience, and every little improvement in leads is a step in the right direction. Congratulations on that lead increase! I did try targeting Russell Brunson, but unfortunately, the results weren’t as good.

I’m sorry to hear about your back pain; that sounds really challenging. It’s great that you’re taking the necessary breaks and implementing a desk riser. It’s a wonderful reminder that self-care should never take a backseat to our work.

I hope the X-rays provide some answers and relief soon. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to hearing more about your journey!

      Hi Ezequiel,
Thanks so much for your comment and feedback!
It’s true the balance of health and business is over looked until it’s too late for many.
I wish I had been more mindful of my health sooner in life.
I think I write so much about the physical, mental and emotional struggles while running business because it’s something so often overlooked and I want to send the message out. Thanks for your continued encouragement 🙂

    Hi, Denny!
I’m sorry to hear of your severe pain! I hope the desk helps you a great deal.

I have started giving myself a sticker on my wall calendar each day I walk. I’m impatient to do any repetitive tasks, so I’m implementing James Clear’s advice from Atomic Habits. He says only allow yourself a certain ridiculous time limit (I’m doing 10 minutes), and don’t allow yourself to go beyond it. So, for the first month, I’m only allowed to walk ten minutes. I’m sure by the time the month is over, I’ll be itching to do more! The actual routine of starting my exercise routine will be in place, and I’ll just need to add time to it.I know what you mean about how health can go to waste when so much time is spent working on a new business. To quote Barney Fife, I must “Nip it in the Bud!” I’ve got to get moving.

I’m so glad your lead ad is improving and going well. That’s great news!
Good luck with all your tasks in this week. I wish you the best!

Thanks so much for commenting and giving me feedback!
I appreciate your encouragement and for sharing from James Clear and Barney Fife, great advice!
It’s awesome that you’re implementing some principals from Atomic Habits 🙂
Maybe it’s time to start including some of these books on my to read list!
Wish you all the best 🙂

Danny I like the fact that you talked about your jouney through Facbook Lead ads. It can get very frustrating whan nothing comes in. I like that you have changed them up to see if something else works. Nice heartful job.

      Hi Meredith,
Thanks so much for your comment and feedback!
I have no other choice than to push forward, this biz is all I have right now.
Haven’t been able to get any other job over the last year, so this is it 🙂
It’s said we don’t know how much we can actually push through until we are forced because there’s no other option.
In terms of my health, trying to maintain good health is the reason I haven’t attained a job to help financially while doing this biz.
I can go get a job today in a warehouse, landscaping, construction, but I’ll destroy the rest of my back and risk being cripple at some point.
Even driving jobs are bad for my back and very painful. I’ve had to ignore many job opportunities in order to stay healthy.
It sounds nuts when I think about it, but it’s where I am 🙂
      Thanks again.

I appreciate that you are focused on not only your business health but your health in body as well. The desk riser is so cool. I had one and my old 9 to 5 and it was pretty cool and beneficial as it forced me to keep moving and keep focused. Have a great week ahead!
