Now That’s an Explosive Start 🤯

Now that we are in ✌️2024✌️ and on Day 81, it’s time to get going on the goals I’ve set for this year! In my last post I shared briefly what some of those goals would be, her they are again:

👉    Complete Affiliate System Beginners Advantage training

👉    More targeted regular blogging, helping who I can help

👉    Move forward with video-based blogging using TikTok, YouTube and Reels.

👉    Utilize more Instagram and Pinterest to share blog posts and video posts

👉    To be making a f/t income by end of 2024 5K per month or more

👉    More to consider as the year unfolds…

Off To A Great Start! 🎉

Today I had a training session about a big change that is happening regarding email marketing. Gmail and Yahoo have come together to set some new rules in 2024 for anyone who markets and connects with people through email, to limit the SPAM going around.

Limiting SPAM is a good thing, I have a personal Gmail account and am happy with how effective Gmail is at eliminating SPAM. However, the new rules are so strict that honest businesses like mine can be flagged if more than 1% of my emails get labeled as SPAM by someone who signed onto my email list. This is going to change the entire realm of building an online business.

How Do We Handle This

In my training I learned that the most important step all businesses will need is to build a connection, build trust with those who are interested in what they offer. For example, anyone who has subscribed to my blog or even just read my blog will notice this is already the approach I take, it is what my mentor Dean has taught me over the last several months.

I blog in order to document my journey through affiliate marketing, but I also do it in a way that anyone interested can follow me and learn from my successes and failures. I’m basically an open book and everyone can read and see I have nothing to hide. I do this to be honest and gain your trust. Those who trust me will be happy to get helpful emails from me rather than mark them as SPAM.

My Goal 🎯

In the end, my goal is to help as many people as I can in navigating through the affiliate marketing world. Believe me, I know how many affiliate opportunities are out there and so many are scams or don’t offer enough coaching. It can be an exhausting experience to find the right affiliate program or training. It took me many years of attempting online business to finally meet my current mentor Dean Holland, who is a genius in affiliate marketing. Dean offers me more attention, training and help than even any of the 9-5 brick & mortar jobs I’ve had! I want to share anything I learn with anyone interested to make it easier!

You tell me. Do you prefer receiving emails from a strange unknown business or from one you trust and have been following?

Part of this goal is making sure I can offer you, the reader, as much valuable content as possible. In order to do this, I am open to any feedback or questions you can ask in the comments section. This would help me potentially answer you question or even commit a blog post to the question or topic if there are many people with the same question or issue. Also, I want to recommend that you subscribe to the blog by leaving your name and email in the blue subscribe box top right of this post. This will allow you to get notice of my new blog posts and updates.

What’s Next? 🤷

I really need to get on with getting TikTok going. It is said that the thing we are avoiding most due to fear tends to an are most experience their biggest breakthrough. Let’s put that to the test! Mine is making videos like TikTok. I have done live workshops and seminars in person and Zoom for thousands of people over the years. For some reason recording videos, even short ones, has me stumped.

This is something I want to overcome! May be a small thing for others but it seems big to me. I’ve mentioned getting TikTok in order in a previous post and encouraged readers to keep me accountable. I am putting it out there again! Feel free to call me out on this if I don’t record and share my first video by next week.

The comment section is below and I look forward to hearing your feedback and any questions you may have!

Until the next post!

Denny

This is a really good read. Thank you so much. The e-mail/spam rate is a bit worrying but I’m sure if you carry on with quality content you’ll be just fine. I look forward to seeing your TikTok’s. I want to start them too, I used to train hundreds of people in one room so I don’t know why I’m finding short videos so intimidating?
I’ll be following you with your goals. Good luck

Hu Denny. Great to read your post. Making and appearing on videos terrifies me. It’s my goal to overcome these fears and try myself on this avenue. Regarding SPAM, I agree we are experiencing a major industry shift that could affect how we do business with email marketing. I tasted it already myself so I’m happy to see that you prepare for this. Having a business implies many responsibilities. Predicting incoming industry changes and adapt to them in time is one clear quality of a good entrepreneur.

Hi, great blog….. yes the changes to email look to be both a challenge to those who use email to reach out to subscriber and a delight to those who get scammed by those who buy lists and exploit them.

I love your dedication to building trust with your subscribers and your emphasis on transparency and value-driven content.

Funny you should mention TikTok as I have started to research how to do TikTok ‘correctly´ It seems to be quite an art. Do let us know how you get on Keep up the great work and I’m excited to follow your journey in 2024!”

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Tony,

Thanks for your comment and feedback! I appreciate your encouragement!
Glad you are considering TikTok! I heard from people who haven’t had good results they say because the algorithm does work for what they are doing, yet others who build a decent following. I say it’s best to give it a try and see if it’s worth and long term effort.
Look forward to having you back again. All the best!

  5. Nakina Lawson

Yes! I would prefer to get emails from people I actually know. I don’t even open emails from my favorite companies. I prefer to get emails from an individual. I just read this amazing blog with some practical confidence tips: https://iaffiliateonline.com/confidence-boost/ It includes a recommendation to just say 5,4,3,2,1 then do it. Whatever it is you’re not yet confident doing. A bit like jumping into a cold swimming pool! One, two, three jump! Cheers to you! It sounds like you’re on a roll in your business. I look forward to seeing your first TikTok!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Nakina,
Thank you for your comment. I prefer emails from individuals as well!
I appreciate your encouragement and the reference to the blog post on confidence, I found it very useful!
Look forward to you coming back to share again.

  7. Alan Lim

    Hi Denny,

I plan to start on Tik Tok too, once I get my Facebook Ads going.

I bought my first course on Youtube many years ago, but never got around to doing videos. So I think I will start with Tik Tok. This is to train myself to get used to doing short videos before doing the longer videos on Youtube.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Alan,
That’s great that you’re thinking of TikTok! I’ve had several people not like the results from using TikTok, but I feel it’s worth a try, it works for some and not with others. Has something to do with the algorithms. Look forward to hearing how it goes for you! Keep me posted.

  8. CJ

    Denny,

You are correct, As Dean would say the money is the relationship with those in the list. Putting others first is key to a successful online business. The say goes, it is more blessed to give than to receive.

I was once was given the advise to give so much value in what you are offering people that they just cannot say no. Or as I’ve see in other blog posts give, give, give without worrying about what you will get in return. The return will come.

Also, thanks for sharing how the new email changes are going to impact online business. It is important to get this word out to everyone.

Keep us posted on your doing at reaching your goals. I would love to celebrate your wins with you.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi CJ,
Dean is certainly the model to follow! Every successful I have ever followed or read through their material, books, watched/listened to their teaching, have all stated to give as much value. It’s part of success! Zig Ziglar said, “You want to get ahead, help others get ahead”! Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Denny,
Great post. Change is definitely coming to email marketing in 2024 and if those already in the process of doing it don’t see it or don’t want to abide by those changes, they might find themselves in trouble!
Looking forward to reading your future entries!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Mark,
Thank you for your comment! Some will definitely get left behind, some will be stubborn and others will move forward with the change!

  11. Robert Klein

    Denny,

I’m glad you are off to a Great Start! I commend you on moving forward with some video-based blogging. It takes some extra time – but well worth it. Eventually I would say it would be well worth it to show the text of what you are speaking about in your videos. It is a known fact that many folks watch videos online with the sound turned off – for various reasons.

It’s real good to get the word out about how email marketing is changing in this year of 2024. And you’re right that it can be an exhausting experience finding the right affiliate program or training. At least that part is behind you.

I have confidence that you will do well with the video recording as the live workshops you have done will surely come in handy. Just get started and do it consistently!

  12. Tom

I couldn’t agree more with your take on email marketing changes. I have noticed already I have fewer emails, and some senders have changed their approach to be more friendly, and provide more “know-me better” content.
Regarding TiKTok I tried it last year but it wasn’t a good quality leads, as in my opinion is used for a cheap dopamine boost, and I am not sure how to monetise it.
Maybe I learn something from your experience with it in the future.
I am excited for the next post!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Thanks for the comment Tom!
Yes, my spam folder seems to be filling much slower also.
With TikTok I have heard from several people that it’s not the greatest but others who have been okay with it. I figure it’s worth a try, I’m sure there will be some good learning even if it isn’t something I stick with for the long term. Look forward to you coming back for more!

  13. Sherri S Pulcino

Denny, the new email rules for Gmail and Yahoo is certainly to be paid attention to. Nobody likes SPAM and when you build a relationship with your email list that will lower the SPAM count. Good luck with TikTok. Look forward to following your progress on that.
    Sherri

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Sherri,
Thank you for your comment! I agree. It’s always been said that relationship wins in business, only now it’s not going to be an option!
Hope you see you back again. All the best!

  14. Eleanor Hope

    Hi Denny,

I will be following your blog as you are thorough in your sharing of your experiences and look forward to learning a lot from you. I also look forward to your next venture in TikTok. Do you do videos on YouTube? Do you have a preference for TikTok rather than YouTube? I would love to do the same in the future. (not quite yet ready.)

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Eleanor,
Thank you for you comment! I’m happy to help when I can 🙂
I haven’t done YouTube or any videos really.
I chose TikTok as they are shorter videos I can practice with before going to YouTube.
Thanks again and look forward to having you back!

So glad you enjoyed the post and happy to inspire you!
Yes, TikTok comes up a lot. For me it’s a start because it short videos.
I hope to use it to get better at videos before I take on YouTube which is more for longer videos.
Hope you see you back soon!
      Denny

  16. Katrin

I’ve started doing YouTube videos after procrastinating for quite some time. Then I decided to just do it and start really simple. The lighting isn’t the best, I do have a small mic, but nothing else, and I use my phone to record. I decide what to talk about in the video, but after that I wing it. Using a manuscript makes the whole performance stiff and it also becomes another excuse not to record, “I haven’t written a manuscript yet!”.

So just go do the Tik-Tok videos, they’ll be bad in the beginning but it doesn’t matter the slightest.

I have to begrudgingly admit that I am not “hip” with TikTok but can recognize how helpful it can be in helping me reach my audience as well. I hope you will share with us how you get on with that, because I’d like to learn from your experience!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Acasha,
      Thank you for your comment!
I’m not the biggest fan of TikTok for different reasons but going to give it a try!
I’ll be documenting while I do it and hopefully others that do TikTok also share.
This way we can learn the differences from each other.
Hope you to have you back soon!
