Day 109 – Do It Right, Make It Last! 👍

Welcome back! I hope you’ve been having an amazing week! 👋

This week was fun for me. I’ve been going through a transition recently in my life and work, which you can read about in my last post titled Blog Hopping & Bus Driving. I’ve been handling it well, I think, and it allowed me to have some fun this week!

Before I get into this week’s goings on, I want to share a topic with you that I believe should be important to everyone involved in or interested in online business. I’m referring to the LIES that are out there in cyber world about getting rich fast online. Short answer, it’s not true, but can seem true!

This is something I’m very passionate about, revealing the lies and helping you so you don’t have to fall for the crap lies and waste your time and money!

What’s with this get rich quick nonsense?  💰

If you’ve been on social media chances are you’ve seen some short videos, pics or even read stories of people who are decked out, nice cars, free looking life, traveling the globe. They’re making claims that you can make a ton of money online. It can be true!

There are 2 different messages that are being shared in these social media posts and ads but only one of them is true. The issue is you can’t always figure it out unless you do some thorough research!

Message 1 – You can make 4-5 figures+ per month in as fast as 1-3 months, you don’t need to know much about computers or social media, just follow a few steps and bingo bango you have a successful business.

Message 2 – You can build a successful online business and make 4-5 figures per month; learn the necessary skills and make use of available mentoring to get you successful in your business.

Both these messages sound similar and may seem hard to determine which is more viable. To some people it may be easy to figure out.

How do we avoid scams? 💸

The most basic way is to remind yourself if it sounds too good to be true it usually is! You need to do your research and ask probing questions, look up reviews and feedback online. There’s no push button, quick fix, don’t have to work, way of building wealth in online business.

You’ll have to learn some important skills, practice them, take time and work your business, take time to train and learn from a successful mentor who shares with you their proven plan you can follow.

I’ve mentioned in past posts, I’ve been scammed, told I could make $$$$ and get help, then afterward no real help to be had and money lost.

What I’ve Tried! 😰 💦

In the past 13 years I’ve also tried multi-level marketing, online coaching, drop ship, direct sales… I wasn’t successful in any of them, but these weren’t scams; I failed because I didn’t have a mentor to guide me or a proven plan to follow. I tried to do it all on my own. There are many business models online that work, you just need to make use of the coaching available to get help.

You may think, “I don’t need help, just the right business idea”. I’m in a mentoring group of over 200 people building affiliate marketing businesses who have said the same thing and haven’t been able to. I said it and I’ve heard so many people say it. If you can make it work, power to you! However, I’ve learned the vast majority cannot, without the right help.

Most people jump from business model to business model, the next shinny object, the so-called best new option, spend, spend, spend, spend, spend… Success in one model never happens!

The KEY 🗝️

The key is to find one, stick to it until you’re successful. If it’s getting challenging, good it’s supposed to have challenges! This is the time where it’s important to have access to help, a mentor, to overcome obstacles and continue moving forward to success.

Right now, I’m working on an affiliate marketing business, and it’s so exciting because I’m doing it the right way! As I mentioned in past posts, I have an amazing mentor, Dean Holland, one of the best in the world. I’m also following a proven plan that Dean developed based on his own successful journey. I get daily help as I need it, I have access to live training weekly, a support team and a supportive community of like-minded people helping each other. It’s awesome!

But I am not getting rich quick even though I’m doing it right. It could take up to a year before I make as much as a full-time income. This is the way it really is out there, folks!! IT TAKES TIME AND EFFORT!

You won’t get rich quick, but you’ll build a business that will make you rich forever!

What about those who do get rich suddenly? 🤑

What we don’t notice about people who appear to have become rich fast is that they’ve been working on it for some time before money was made. After they put in the hard work and started making money it could then happen faster because they’ve learned the skills needed. They’ve made mistakes and learned from them. They’ve worked hard at what they needed to do. THEN, in time it happened $$$$.

We see only see the tip of the iceberg when we look at these successful people, and we forget to look at all the work they did to get there, which is the 80% that hides under the water.

We need to stop wanting and looking for the EASY and FAST way of getting through life! This is where the problem is. This is a destructive mindset to live buy!

Anything that has come easy, fast and without work pains is not worth having!

What’s been going on this week? 🗓️

This week I was testing out my new email list of those of you who have subscribed on my blog to get updates and free training videos. It was time for me to send out my first update to my list which included a link to my last blog post.

I am sending a second update soon which is to share this very blog post with you!!

    Good post, Denny,

There’s not a lot I can comment about, as it’s all out of the gospel according to Dean Holland, but it will prove useful to “outsiders” when the time comes for them to read it. Perhaps a mention of the clickable advert you have in the sidebar somewhere in the body of the post would be a good idea.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Phil,
      Thanks for your feedback!
Mentioning the advert in the side bar is s good idea, thanks 🙂

    Hi Denny,

    Great post!

There are so many marketers out there selling “How to make $10,000 per month in 90 days even if you are a complete beginner”.

So it is very refreshing to see you mentioning that it can take up to a year to make a full time income. I think more people need to hear this message. It is going to take time to learn the skills to become an effective marketer.

Thank you for putting out this message and congratulation for your win.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Alan,
Thank you for your feedback and encouragement!
Yes, there are too many spewing this scam.
I’m happy we are alike in our view of this.
I think it’s so important that we share this info regularly to combat the lies.
It’s the only way to help people avoid the scams and find the right programs.
I hope you can come back to share your feedback on future post 🙂

  3. Atif Perwiz

Denny, really great information thank you. Yep we’ve all seen it the promise of riches just by doing a few clicks. To be honest once you get to a point where you’re established and have a huge audience you probably can do a few clicks and some money. That’s not something that’s really possible at the beginning. Unfortunately people use our vulnerabilities to suck us in to spend money. You’ve said the most important thing here which is you may be able to do it on your own and that’s great but what you really need is a coach and mentor that can guide you because they’ve actually done it. And not just earn bit of money, actually built a business, done the marketing, built an audience and is running a seven figure business. That’s who you want to learn from and we are lucky enough to have that someone. Well done. Keep going can’t wait to see how you progress. Take care thanks, Atif

    1. Denny Medeiros

      HI Atif,
      Thanks for sharing your feedback!
Yes, it’s unfortunate this is used to take advantage of people.
I’m glad we are of the same opinion and sharing the message to those who don’t know yet.
The mentor is so important, as you mentioned, they’ve already accomplished everything we are yet to accomplish.
Yes, we are lucky to have a found the mentoring that will take us to success!
Hope you can come back and contribute your feedback to future posts!

Unsubscribe from all the “get rich quick” schemes. And look the other way on social media! Lately I’ve only been focused on our training at Affiliate Systems and Internet Profits! My brain is happier for it, as I increase focus and productivity.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Kate,
You are right! The best thing to do is subscribe from and avoid and get rich quick messaging.
Stick with what is working for you!
All the best and hope you come back again to read future posts 🙂

That’s right, Denny! I’ve been hearing the phrase that when money happens in our business, it will seem to happen quickly. I think what is meant by that is that after all that hard work and good habit building when it does happen, it seems to come out of the blue because those foundational steps haven’t changed at all. But, of course, much hard work on that foundation comes before the results, and when the results happen, it can seem like a sudden windfall. I’ve been thinking about this a lot, trying to wrap my head around it. Can you tell? Lol!

And I don’t know about you guys, but a business built on effort sounds much better than a few clicks of a mouse. That just sounds fake and short-lived to me!

      Hi Nakina,
      Thank you for sharing!
You’re totally right a business built on effort is much better than a few clicks and bango.
In regards to that sudden windfall, It’s a compound effect. Daren Hardy wrote a book on it.
We can make the effort to do something and be faithful at daily doing what needs to be done, and not see much break through, but in time when break though starts, it is compounded based on our past and continued effort and increase continues in greater and greater amounts.
So it seems big in a short time, but it wouldn’t have happened without the previous work invested when there was no break through.
Hope that makes sense 🙂 thanks again for your feedback and hope to see you back again!

Excellent post! The lies of so many are so frustration for those of us trying to make it in this online world in an ethical manner. Finding a mentor has been the key so fay and I am so glad you found one. I did as well (same one, by the way 🙂 ). His guidance and realistic approach have made me feel like I can do this online thing! Thank you for reminding us all to be on the lookout for genuine vs hoax.

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Ernie,
      Thanks for your comment!
Dean is an amazing mentor and so glad we are connected with him!
Yes, it’s important to know the difference but also important for us to to share it so others learn the truth.
Hope to see you back soon 🙂

  7. Lauren Millman

Denny, this is absolutely one of THE BEST articles I’ve read in a while! I truly don’t think I could have said it any better myself. I’ve written about these “scammers” before… the ones promising you ways to get you rich, and quick. Oh, it’s tempting. I am fortunately enough to say I never moved forward with any of those offers, but I have been tempted. There’s SO MUCH material out there, being offered by those that are less-than-ethical, and as a result it was hard in the very beginning to make the decision to move forward with this career. You absolutely make an incredible point, which is, anything is possible with two things: 1) be prepared to put in the work, and 2) hiring a mentor or coach is INVALUABLE! I hope others out there new to affiliate marketing heed your advice!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Lauren,
Thank you for your feedback and encouragement.
It’s always great to know there are others of the same mindset and I’m happy you weren’t taken by any scams 🙂
You are correct with those 2 things but if I can add to the first point, to believe in yourself and be prepared to put the work in, then as you mention the second to have an great mentor and proven plan. I hope more affiliate marketer will make time to continue sharing this message every once in a while to combat the scams and help others find the right program. All the best and I hope you will be back to share feedback on future posts!

  8. Michelle Medeiros

This is excellent information, I started an online course that said it was easy to make and create journals for Amazon online indicating you can make $25 k per month. I took the course and realized that there’s so much that I need to learn in order to create a successful business and that I do need the right knowledge and skills and mentors to become successful. I fell for the get rich quick scheme but understand that with the right guidance and training you can be successful! Great post!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Michelle,
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s never easy after getting scammed and it can even create blocks and fears trying to move forward. The important part is not to not beat yourself up about it, and know you have the strength to continue to move forward. It’s important to figure out next steps. Is the business viable and the message was the scam? Then, you can stay with the business model and try finding a new mentor, while you continue to do your best and continue making journals. If the business model is flawed and a scam, then you may want to find and invest in another business model, program and mentor. Feel free to continue to come back with more feedback and questions even about other business models available. All the best moving forward and let me know how I can help.

Hello Denny, I learned a long time ago nothing comes easy so I’ve been luck to have not been scammed too often. Not that I haven’t been but at least it was minimal, monetarily. I’m all in on this and I made sure to sign up for as much mentoring as possible because I too feel this is very important. I’m looking forward to your future blog posts, Have a great week ahead!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Jon,
      Thanks for sharing your experience.
I’m happy you learned early on to avoid scams and that you are investing in mentoring.
It will the most 2nd most important component to your success.
The first and most important component is us, believing in ourselves!
All the best and hope you will be back to share feedback on future posts.

  10. Robert Klein

I’m glad you devote some time talking about those that get rich suddenly. Those are the one’s we hear about more often and as you mention we only see the tip of the iceberg in those situations.

It’s good to see you have started sending messages to the list of subscribers you have started building.

      Hi Robert,
Thank you for your feedback. I’m happy there’s so many like minded people in this regard. I just feel there’s an increase in scams and I feel responsible to help make sure others avoid them and find the real thing. Appreciate your sentiments! Wish you all the best and hope you can come back and share your feedback on future posts.

  11. Martin Lefebvre

Hey Denny! Happy to see we share the same view about affiliate marketing. A real business, this is what it is!! The only way to get rich quick I know that works is to buy a lottery ticket and with chance, a few days later, you could become multi millionaire! This is proven to work for one over 1 billion. A proven plan? Maybe, but certainly not a good one because you rely on chance to make it work. My rationale here is that for almost all people it will never work in their entire life time. Is this quick enough? Surely not. Sadly, many people count on this to get out of their bankruptcy. However a business, provided you put your own efforts into it, is what I call a much better proven plan because you make your own chance. So if you’re business gives you benefits, and it’s fair to say it will, even if that takes one, two, three years, is it quick money? Surely not. But quick enough ? Oh yes!!
    Have a nice day,

      Hi Martin,
You are spot on the only way is lottery and the chances slim, and often unprepared to handle the riches when they come in so quickly!
A business, as you mentioned, takes time and effort. So glad I am one of many like yourself that thinks this way!
All the best and hope you can come back to share more feedback on future posts!

  12. Andy Jacobs

Hi Denny, I was captivated by this post. Everything you said was so true. I too have seen so many claims of riches beyond your wildest dreams for little effort. What utter nonsense. This is a fantastic message for anyone out there wanting to make money online. Well done, sir!

    1. Denny Medeiros

      Hi Andy,
Thank you for your feedback. It’s great to know there are other’s like you with the same thoughts experiences on this topic. I appreciate your comment. All the best and hope you can come back and share more feedback on future posts 🙂

  13. Marc

    Hi Denny,
So true, the spam that is out there prying into those who either need money asap or want to just get the “get-rich now” is mind boggling!
The biggest factor in anything I was successful at was, like you mentioned, having a mentor to help me along.
Dean is definitely one of a rare breed that not only gives his time and ressources out to us, he genuinely wants us all to succeed.
    All the best!

    1. Denny Medeiros

Yes, it’s insane. I still see repeated advertising with scam messages. looking at some reels and one scam pops up the it doesn’t stop. Good thing we have a mentor that keeps us focused on what works! Dean is an amazing mentor and so glad you’re on this journey with him as your mentor! All the best and hope you can come back and share more feedback 🙂

  14. Nathan

I’ve found the times I’ve gotten scammed (or maybe not completely scammed, but it was too good to be true), is because I was going in with the wrong mindset. I was looking for something easy, and I wasn’t really willing to put in the work.

Which leads me to agree completely with your point of sticking to it. I’ve learned that what’s going to actually work, doesn’t matter if it’s the perfect product or system, I have to work at it and not give up.

Now I know I’ve got a good mentor, I know he’s for real and not out to scam people, and I know the product will help people who need it – I just need to keep working at it.

    1. Denny Medeiros

I agree Nathan, going in with the wrong mindset looking for something easy is where it all starts off bad. It right that there’s so much scam messaging feeding our “want something easy” mindset and taking advantage of it. It sounds like you’re on the right track Nathan, and that you have a good mentor is priceless! Thanks for sharing 🙂 look forward to your feedback on future posts!
