It’s family day today here in Ontario, Canada! 🎉 It’s a provincial holiday and I’m spending it with my family. I’m just taking a moment to write a post since last week I was too ill to write one. If you missed my last post a couple weeks ago, it was a good one talking about the get rich quick schemes and how to avoid them.

This week I want to mention a huge breakthrough I had, but first I want to take you through my experience creating and using a resource called Linktree!

What is Linktree? 🔗 🌳

Linktree is one link or URL that you can use to host all your different social media outlets you’re sharing through. This one link you can add to each of your social media platforms and will provide in it the links to all your social media.

You can share this Linktree link on social media platforms, videos descriptions, when doing a webinar or live session and even add it to your email signature. This would make all your social media available through one link!

How can I get or make a Linktree?

What most people do is to utilize an account with the Linktree site. There you can find a variety of options from a free account to a $6, $10, and $27 (CAD) account depending on your needs, personal or influencer/business level.

This means you don’t need a website but will create the one-page resource on Linktree which will have its own URL for that page hosting the links to all your social media. You’ll be able to easily choose from templates and add your links and customize it. If you do have a website or a blog you will be able to connect the Linktree to them. I did it differently!

How I did it!

I was able to create one outside of the Linktree platform. As I’m part of an affiliate marketing program and mentoring group I have access to something called the Affiliate System. For me this is a one stop shop where I have my blog running, can design my own funnels, connect with and create email campaigns for my subscribers and much more. I also just learned how to create my own Linktree through using Affiliate System.

The process isn’t complicated even in the Linktree platform. It’s selecting a template to work with, then making the changes you want, such as colors, images, backgrounds. Then you include the link URL’s for each of your social media platforms. If you have issues, Linktree should have a way to contact support to help you.

What’s the difference using Affiliate System? Affiliate System is a system that I already pay for so I can run my blog and everything I do in my business online, a one stop shop. By using this to make my own Linktree it saves me from paying a separate Linktree monthly fee. Saving money is always a good thing 😊

I Had A Big Breakthrough! 🎉 🥳

As I mentioned when I started this post, I had a big breakthrough this past week!

I’ve been mentioning for a couple months that I wanted to get started utilizing TikTok as another platform. Use it for sharing my affiliate journey and helping anyone to learn about affiliate marketing.

I procrastinated and put it off because of fear I had about what others would think and fear of judgement. On the flip side, I’ve also been receiving a lot of encouragement from my mentor Dean Holland, in our training sessions as he spoke about overcoming this fear in a couple of training sessions recently.

I finally gathered the courage and recorded my first TikTok video. It seemed like a 2 minute recording but when I checked it was over 6 minutes long! Of course, this was too long for a short video so I recorded another video which was about 2:30. Now that I’d overcome one big hurdle (recording), it was time to put it out in cyberworld 😣…

I wrote a description, took a deep breath, and hit POST!

I was shocked! 😲 I was getting views, some likes and a few comments, within the first 1.5 hours  I had over 300 views, 4 likes, 1 follower. Within 3 days now over 700 views, 5 comments, 8 likes, 2 people mentioned they will continue to follow with interest in witnessing if affiliate marketing will work for them. I’ve since posted a second video which has over 600 views, and I’ve gained a total of 13 followers so far.

These beginning numbers are great and all, but I understand that this platform will only be successful if I’m consistent with posting new videos and making sure there’s some value in those videos. The fear is overcome and now the real work starts, the work of being CONSISTENT!
